Background Emma Pears began the choir in October
2002 and has seen it grow from a group of 20 to the lively 130 on the current
list! The choir consists of members of the Rehearsals Monday evenings 8-10pm at The Mill Lane
Centre, Sevenoaks. Rehearsals usually take place during
school term times. Ability/ Auditions We sing without music and are a mixed ability
choir, with no control on the input but plenty of control on the output! Our
aim is to be inclusive, so we do not hold auditions for being members of the
choir. Music and Lyrics We learn the songs by rote (without
music and lyrics written down) in order not to be exclusive to those who can
read music and so that we learn and memorise songs effectively. If you find yourself in a rehearsal and
we are singing a song you didn’t learn with the choir, you may borrow some
lyrics for that song. You may also use the lyrics to learn the songs between
