Baptism

What is baptism?
Baptism is, as the picture shows, being submerged in water before being lifted out again. It is a statement to everybody that the person being baptised is committing their life to follow God's ways.

Why do we do it?
You may have heard of John the Baptist who baptised Jesus. Jesus was baptised and in the Bible he says that Christians are to be baptised too. Therefore, baptism is being obedient to what Jesus asks us to do.

This is what it looks like...  the pool is in the middle of the main hall in the church and the water is normally warm!

Baptisms take place as part of a Sunday Morning Service, and are a great to bring friends and family to – to hear how Jesus has changed people’s lives.
