How do I become a Christian?

The most simple explanation is this: we believe what the Bible says:- that because of our decision not to live God's way (sin), we are seperated from a relationship with God.  God always intended for us to enjoy an intimate friendship with him.  To restore this broken relationship God sent Jesus, His Son, to live as a man.  He lived the perfect life even though he knew the same weaknesses that we know.  He was crucified so that our broken relationship with God can be restored and that our sin can be forgiven.   We become a Christian when we put our trust in God, admit that we have not lived God's way, and ask for God's forgiveness.  God then restores his relationship with us by giving us a new start and comes and lives in us by the Holy Spirit.  Yes, God Himself chooses to live inside of us - giving us the power to live his ways!   Being forgiven by God for the things we have done wrong is so important: it means we have assurance of living with God after we die, it means that we are free from sin which can trap us like a spiders web, it means that life has a wonderful purpose.
